Romper Room-Play as a Teaching Strategy

Date: Mon, Apr 29, 2019, 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM

According to Kenneth R. Ginsburg, MD, MSEd, “Play is essential to development because it contributes to the cognitive, physical, social, and emotional well-being of children.”  Through play, young children become active learners engaged in explorations about themselves, their community, and their personal-social world (Saracho, 2012.) In this workshop, we will define play to create a rich play environment and explore ways to integrate play into the curriculum. OPTIONAL: Participants may bring examples of “play” interactions from their classrooms (please adhere to site’s requirements as related to photos, etc.) to share.
