The "Learn to Earn” program has been developed by the Early Learning Coalition of Brevard
to enhance the quality of child care in Brevard County. The program rewards those working at the Coalition's contracted School Readiness and VPK providers for attendance at training that relates to early childhood education. The goal of this program is to decrease staff turnover, increase quality child care and empower teachers to continue their education.
Requirements:

Must be a teacher or Director currently employed for at least six months with a contracted Early Learning Coalition of Brevard School Readiness or Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten program; Owners of a child care center do not qualify

Must work directly with children between the ages of 0-5 at least 10 hours per week

Must have completed 40 clock hours of Part 1 and Part II Introductory Child Care Training through DCF

The school must remain in good standing with the Early Learning Coalition's contractual obligations

Only trainings offered by the Early Learning Coalition and The Children's Forum qualify; no other trainings from any other agencies will be accepted (training calendar)

Applications are accepted twice per year; May 15th – June 15th and November 15th – December 15th
Stipend Request Process:

Each participant will be eligible to be reimbursed for up to 20 hours per year (10 hours twice per year) at a rate of $10 per hour

Each participant will be required to submit a Stipend Request Form and proof of completion for all trainings; i.e. In-Service Training Request or certificate (trainings must fall between the current fiscal year of July 1 - June 30)

Participants should expect payment in the form of Direct Deposit within 30 days of last day of stipend collection
The Learn to Earn program is contingent upon funding availability and ongoing program analysis. Any misappropriation of these funds will result in full repayment of the allocated amount and the forfeiture of any future opportunities.
